Scott Houwman

Scott Houwman

Scott Houwman was born in the Mitchell Methodist Hospital in 1967. He is a 1985 graduate of Washington High School of Sioux Falls. He attended the University of South Dakota through the fall semester of his junior year before enlisting in the US Army where he served a 2 year enlistment as a medic with an honorable discharge as an E-4 (specialist) in 1990. He completed his undergraduate work at South Dakota State University in 1991. Scott achieved his Masters of Physical Therapy at the University of South Dakota in 1993. During the spring semester Scott was called to serve in Operation Desert Storm from January through April. Scott worked at Huron Regional Medical Center for 14 months before starting University Physical Therapy in December of 1994. Scott, his wife Carla and daughter Tori moved to Mitchell with UPT in 1995, and with the addition of their son Tyler in 1996, have enjoyed the great family life Scott's hometown has afforded. The support and family atmosphere Mitchell has given to the business is the main reason UPT is now the largest provider of physical therapy and related services in the area. Scott and Carla wish to offer their thanks to all those who have made University Physical Therapy their choice for rehabilitation, personal training, and athletic training services.

Bonita Albrecht

Bonita Albrecht

I was born at Lake Preston, South Dakota and grew up on a farm south of Lake Preston. My husband and I have been married for nearly 27 years and have farmed for that many years as well. We have three wonderful sons who are also interested in farming someday. At the age of 37, I decided to go to college and took various courses at SDSU, two of which were chemistry and anatomy. I enjoyed anatomy and decided to enroll in the associate course of physical therapy at Lake Area Technical Institute. In May of 2000 I graduated from LATI with an Associate Degree in Physical Therapy. Since September of 2000 I have worked for University Physical Therapy at its DeSmet and Howard branches. I enjoy my occupation and always find it rewarding to help others.

Lisa Neugebauer

Lisa Neugebauer

My name is Lisa Neugebauer and I have been with UPT since 2002 as office manager. I graduated from Dakota State College and have 22 years of experience in the medical field. My experience covers all areas from transcription, ICD-9 and CPT coding, filing and appealing claims with insurance carriers, as well as accounting and payroll duties. I feel UPT offers patients a very personal experience from the insurance aspect, as all communication is done prior to the treatments. This helps the patient realize the insurance plan they have as well as helps avoid denials and unnecessary costs to the patient. I have been married to my husband Norman for 18 years, and we have three daughters. During my free time I enjoy golfing, camping and spending time with my family.
